I just fixed the first issue. Was a quick fix.


If you go to Edit profile, you can choose your own date/time formats. You can also choose alternate color schemes (for now only Acmlmboard) which are more likely to render properly in your browser.

This is how the pages are supposed to look like under the default theme:

Your browser must lack support for the newer CSS features used there.

I will grant you that that theme isn't perfect, though. There's still work to do to make all usernames more readable, as well as other things.

Since 4dsdev is becoming somewhat more active, we might as well start hiring staff.

If you are interested, send me a PM. There are a few conditions to this:


1. You must be a known scene member, active and helpful, and show interest into 4dsdev. Power will not be handed to random people.

2. With great power comes great responsibility. You will need to be responsive. Previous moderation experience is a (big) bonus.

3. You must act with the intent of helping the community and more generally the scene. No elitism or dictatorship will be tolerated.


If all is well, I will review your application and may give you a moderative or administrative position.

The colors will be reworked. They do have meaning, they reflect the user's power and gender. (might add info about that in the FAQ)

I remember trying to feed a custom-made image into my 3DS and it would read it fine.


Maybe the signature just serves to identify which files were taken from the DSi/3DS? Would be a lot of trouble for nothing though.

Okay. blargSNES may see an upgrade, depending on my motivation and... things. fincs has been doing a lot of reverse-engineering, enabling many new fun things.


It will be adapted to the great-refactor branch of ctrulib. (anyone remember 1.0->1.1 and the ctrulib branch switch it involved? living the old times again~)

The blargGL layer will need to be rewritten accordingly. The new GPU API is basically the minimum you need to use the GPU. blargGL will come on the top of that. Better understanding of the GPU also means it will be more performant.

I also want to rewrite the hardware renderer for better performance (and more manageable code). There are also new ideas from Discostew and me that are waiting to be implemented.


There will also be other changes unrelated to graphics.

New ctrulib features an API for using the DSP (along with an official binary), and the DSP is much better fitted to do proper sound streaming than CSND. Needed precisions will be given about which situations require obtaining a DSP binary yourself, and how to do it.

Oh and I hope to finally fix the SPC700 timing. If I manage to get it right, that will fix many issues, especially the "game works in version X but not Y" shit.




Before all that, there'll be a new build with minor fixes (fixed APT, and setting for New3DS overclock).

I have another board, which is there: https://kuribo64.net/board/

It has originally been about SMG hacking, but now, that's dead. It's trying to recenter over 3DS and WiiU hacking as most of the community moved on to these things, but WiiU stuff is mostly happening in other places.

We're mostly working on NSMB2 hacking, but we want to do 3DS hacking in general.



Given this board is also about 3DS stuff, a merge could make sense (and reduce maintenance and all that). There are some issues though:

* userbase clash: this board is generally more serious, Kuribo64 is more relaxed
* Kuribo64 focuses more on ROM hacking, this place focuses over homebrew and RE
* merge logistics aren't trivial

"Merge logistics" would mostly be going to the other board and reposting shit there. There's no easy way to merge things automatically.
